BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - Anders Nilsson made 27 saves for his third straight win and David Ullstrom's goal with 12:10 left in regulation turned out to be the game-winner as the Bridgeport Sound Tigers defeated the Norfolk Admirals 3-2 at Webster Bank Arena on Saturday night. The Sound Tigers have now won three straight games as their record improves to 6-4-1-0. The Admirals drop to 7-4-0-1 with the loss.

For the second time in as many games, the Sound Tigers took a first period lead. New York Islanders 2010 first round pick Nino Niederreiter freed the puck from the Sound Tigers zone ahead to Ullstrom, who led a 2-on-1 rush into the Norfolk zone. Ullstrom waited for defenseman Matt Donovan to join the play and sent the puck from the right circle through the slot. Donovan grabbed the puck and snapped it past Jaroslav Janus for his second goal of the season as the Sound Tigers had a 1-0 lead 10:29 into the game.

Former Sound Tiger Trevor Smith brought the Admirals even with just 1:20 left in the opening period. The Sound Tigers got caught on a change and Norfolk entered the zone and Alexandre Picard had his initial shot stopped by Nilsson, but former Smith found the rebound and backhanded by Nilsson for his sixth goal of the year as the two sides were tied 1-1 after 20 minutes.

Veteran forward Trevor Frischmon gave the Sound Tigers the lead again late in the second period. During a 4-on-4, Aaron Ness made a breakout pass to Frischmon at center ice. Frischmon skated around a Norfolk defenseman, made his way into the slot and lifted the puck over Janus' blocker for his first goal as a Sound Tiger to put Bridgeport ahead 2-1 with 5:08 left in the second period.

Ullstrom extended the Sound Tigers lead to two when he skated the puck into the slot on the power play and beat Janus for his sixth goal of the season at 7:50 of the third period. Carter Ashton brought Norfolk within a goal when he knocked a rebound past Nilsson with 2:51 left in regulation, but the Sound Tigers defense stood strong down the stretch and did not allow a shot on net in the final minute of play as Bridgeport earned their third straight win.

Nilsson's third straight win improves his record to 4-1-0 on the season. The Sound Tigers' record at home now stands at 3-2-1-0 on the season after starting the year 0-2-1-0 in front of the Webster Bank Arena faithful.

The Sound Tigers close out their five-game homestand in search of their fourth straight win tomorrow when they host the St. John's IceCaps at 3:00 p.m.
