Hamilton, Ontario - The Hamilton Bulldogs defeated the Lake Erie Monsters by a score of 1-0 on Saturday night. Aaron Palushaj scored his first goal of the season while Nathan Lawson made 24 saves for the shutout.

The Bulldogs registered 14 shots in the first period, which is the most they have recorded so far in the 2011-2012 season. The 'Dogs opened the scoring at 19:00 of the second period on a power play goal by Aaron Palushaj. Olivier Fortier was positioned at the bottom of the right circle and passed the puck to Brian Willsie who was stationed in the slot. Willsie took a shot and the rebound came out to Palushaj who buried the puck under Lake Erie starting goalie Cedrick Desjardins.

Nathan Lawson made 24 saves for his second shutout of the season, which is tied for first in the AHL.

The Bulldogs will continue their six-game homestand when they battle the Chicago Wolves on Tuesday, November 8th at 10:00 A.M.
