Brampton Steelheads News Release
After a shootout loss in Kingston, the Mississauga Steelheads look to regain their winning ways this week and continue their 7-game point streak. On Thursday, the Steelheads visit the Meridian Centre as they face off with the Niagara IceDogs. Steelheads then return to the Paramount Fine Foods Centre hosting the Barrie Colts on Friday and a matinee matchup with the Sudbury Wolves on Sunday.
Still Streaking
The Steelheads extended their season-long point streak to seven games last weekend. Joe Ranger earned his first career OHL shutout on November 12 against the Ottawa 67's and the Steelheads earned another point in a 5-4 shootout loss against the Frontenacs on November 13. Luca DelBelBelluz continued his success against the Frontenacs with a 3-point performance (1G, 2A). The 18-year-old forward has tallied seven points (3G, 4A) in three games versus Kingston this season.
Hardie Hits The Century Mark
James Hardie notched a career milestone on November 12 against the Ottawa 67's. His assist on Luca DelBelBelluz's second-period goal was the 19-year-old's 100th career point in the OHL. The Steelheads' 2018 first-round draft pick has registered 59 goals, 41 assists in 134 career OHL games.
Return To the Garden City
For the second time this season, the Steelheads return to the Meridian Centre as they face off with the Niagara IceDogs. Both teams exchanged victories on their home ice, with the Steelheads winning 4-1 in their last encounter on November 7.
Containing the Colts
The Steelheads are looking to notch their first win of the season against the Barrie Colts. The Steelheads' current point streak began in their last meeting against Barrie in a 3-2 overtime loss on October 29.
Greeting The Wolves
The Steelheads and the Sudbury Wolves meet for the first time this season at the Paramount Fine Foods Centre. This game is the first of three consecutive meetings between the two divisional foes in the next six days.
Both sides split their season series in the 2019-20 season with three wins apiece. The Wolves currently stand in fourth place in the Central Division with a 6-9-1 record, three points behind the Steelheads, who have a record of 7-4-1-1.
