Somerset Patriots News Release
Bridgewater, NJ- The Three-Time Atlantic League Champion Somerset Patriots have announced the return of outfielder Ryan Radmanovich.
Radmanovich is one of the most feared power hitters in Patriots history, with 87 home runs going into this season. He also is the co-holder of the single season home run record of 28 with Jeff Nettles set in 2005.
Radmanovich is a three-time All-Star for the Patriots and always a legitimate MVP candidate for the league. Radmanovich provided Somerset with most of its offense during the 2005 Playoffs with a .400 batting average, three home runs, and nine RBI in six playoff games. He hit a game-winning three-run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning to break a tie with the Atlantic City Surf in a deciding Game Three of the South Division Championship.
Radmanovich has a Patriots career .290 batting average, 256 runs, 421 hits, 88 doubles, six triples, 87 home runs, 261 RBI, and seven stolen bases in 402 games.
"We are thrilled to bring Ryan back home. He has always been one of the most exciting Patriots to watch throughout our history and we feel that he can help add to our already feared line up," said Patrick McVerry, President of the Somerset Patriots Baseball Club.
Radmanovich played in 25 Major League games for the Seattle Mariners. He has six seasons of Triple-A experience in the Mariners, San Diego Padres, and Pittsburgh Pirates organizations.
Radmanovich has a minor league career .279 batting average with 910 runs, 1,495 hits, 328 doubles, 253 home runs, and 908 RBI.
The 2008 Somerset Patriots Season presented by Ford is underway. Tickets for all 70 home games are on sale for an All-Star Summer. For more information, call (908) 252-0700 or visit www.somersetpatriots.com.
