Orlando Solar Bears News Release
Orlando, FL - The Orlando Solar Bears announced today that Head Coach Drake Berehowsky, and Solar Bears players Ryan Cruthers, Kevin Baker, Thomas Beauregard, T.J. Fox, and Ryan Blair will be volunteering to join Feeding Children Everywhere at the "Pack the Park" event on Saturday, September 29.
Feeding Children Everywhere is hosting "Pack the Park", a meal packaging event that focuses on preparing healthy meals to donate to crisis food pantries in local public schools. Coach Berehowsky and the Solar Bears players will be packing meals from 10:00 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. The event will be held at Feeding Children Everywhere Headquarters, 1101 Virginia Drive, Orlando, FL, 32803.
"We are honored to have been asked to participate in this event," said Solar Bears Managing Partner Jason Siegel. "I know our Coach and players are looking forward to lending a helping hand. We are excited to work side-by-side with all of the volunteers that are coming out this Saturday."
"When you put Feeding Children Everywhere's 'Love Local' program in the hands of some pro hockey players, families, and members of the Central Florida community, hunger doesn't have a chance," said Feeding Children Everywhere founder Don Campbell.
Those interested in volunteering their time can sign up at www.FeedingChildrenEverywhere.com and clicking the "Pack the Park" tab on the left side of the page. There will be fun, family-friendly music as volunteers enjoy packaging meals for hungry kids. Monetary donations are also accepted online, and can be made using PayPal or credit cards.
