Solar Bears Announce Roster Cuts
October 7, 2012 - ECHL (ECHL)
Orlando Solar Bears News Release
Orlando, FL - The Orlando Solar Bears announced today that they have released 13 players from their roster.
The list of released players includes forwards Ron Cramer, Jordan Lane, David Lun, Samson Mahbod, Matthew Panzo, Darick Ste-Marie and Brad Townsend, defensemen Brad Good, Chris Haltigin, Michael Jordan, Edward Levens and Ben Woodley, and goaltender Drew Palmisano.
"We had a chance to evaluate our team over the weekend. I met with each of these players individually and thanked them for their hard work in training camp," said Solar Bears coach Drake Berehowsky. "On Monday five new players from Minnesota and Houston will join our line-up. It's simply a numbers game."
Matt Panzo and Edward Levens were both added to the training camp roster after impressing Berehowsky during the team's open tryouts.
"They both worked hard and impressed our entire coaching staff, said Berehowsky. "When we sat down this morning I told them that the action taken is not a reflection of their efforts. They both were a positive influence on and off the ice. I left the door open for the future and told them to continue to work hard and gain experience. We will keep communication open with them."
Orlando plays their first ECHL game on Friday, October 12, at the Germain Arena against the Kelly Cup Champions, Florida Everblades.
