
Gladiators Receive Two More from AHL Portland

The Phoenix Coyotes sent two more players to the Gwinnett Gladiators on Sunday. Goaltender Mike Lee, and forward Maxime Villemaire were assigned from the Portland Pirates of the American Hockey League and were available for the team's preseason game against the South Carolina Stingrays.
Lee, 22, was a third round pick of the Coyotes (#91 overall) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. The rookie spent his last three seasons at St. Cloud State, and posted an 8-6-2 record with a 2.23 GAA and a .930 save percentage in 16 games in 2011-12. He went 32-29-9 over his three years with the Huskies.
Prior to his time at St. Cloud State, the Roseau, MN native starred for the Fargo Force of the USHL, where he posted a 26-15-4 record, a 2.40 GAA, a .918 save percentage in 2008-09. He was named to the USHL All Star Team, All-Rookie Team, and was chosen as the Goaltender of the Year. Lee also led the 2009-10 United States U20 World Junior Championship team to a gold medal.
Villemaire, 19, scored eight goals and added three assists in 16 games for the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Champion Saint John Sea Dogs last season. He also played 33 games for the Drummondville Voltigeurs, where he potted eight goals with nine assists in 33 games.
The Lasalle, PQ native also spent the 2010-11 season with Drummondville, where he totaled six goals and four assists in 57 games.
The Gladiators are the ECHL Affiliate of the Phoenix Coyotes of the National Hockey League and are members of the ECHL, the Premier "AA" Hockey League and play all home games at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.
