
Snappers Win First Playoff Game, Lead Series 1-0

Beloit starter Kyle Aselton pitched seven and a third innings of no-hit baseball to help the Snappers win 5-0. Aselton struck out ten batters and didn't allow a run in eight innings of work. J.P. Martinez worked a scoreless ninth, striking out two. Deacon Burns lined a double to right field scoring Trevor Plouffe to give Beloit a 1-0 lead in the first inning. The Snappers gave Aselton some insurance with a run in the third and a run in the fourth, giving Beloit a 3-0 advantage. Jeremy Pickrel led off the eighth with a solo home run to right. Javi Sanchez drilled a double to left field scoring Chris Brown, giving Beloit a 5-0 cushion. The Snappers out hit the Rattlers 8-1, Wisconsin's only hit was a double by Matt Tuiasosopo in the eighth.
Playoff Notes: The Snappers lead this best of three series 1-0.
Upcoming Schedule: The Snappers and Timber Rattlers play game two of this best of three series Thursday, September 8 at Fox Cities Stadium in Appleton. ESPN Radio 1380 will be carrying the game. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 pm.
