Behind just three hits and one run, the Snappers fell to the Lansing Lugnuts in game one Friday night by a 3-1 final. Despite pitching well, Mike McCardell picked up the loss after allowing two runs off six hits. McCardell did, however, strike out 10 Lugnuts on the night.

Lansing got their two runs off McCardell in the top of the second inning. A two-run double from Moises Sierra to right field gave Lansing the early 2-0 lead after one and a half.

Beloit got one back in the bottom of the fourth inning on a sac-fly from Rene Leveret. Leveret drove one to right field, allowing Estarlin De Los Santos, who earlier doubled, to score from third base. Estarlin's run made it 2-1 in favor of the Lugnuts after four.

Lansing then got that same run back in the top of the eighth on a Manny Rodriguez RBI-single through the hole at second. Manny's single put the Lugnuts back up two, 3-1.

Unfortunately, the Snappers were unable to mount a comeback, as they went on to fall to Lansing by a 3-1 score.

The loss by the Snappers dropped their second half record back to 21-20.
