BELOIT, WI - Christopher Bostick homered and drove in three for the Beloit Snappers as they took care of the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers by a score of 5-4 in Midwest League action at Pohlman Field on Tuesday night in front of 572.

The Snappers, at 40-25, are now tied with the Cedar Rapids Kernels for first place in the Western Divison. The Timber Rattlers have a record of 26-34.

Beloit picked up the game's first run in the second when they strung together three straight singles, the last one by Bostick to score Matt Olson. Bostick tacked on two more in the fourth, ripping a two-run homer that cleared the wall in left-center for a 3-0 advantage.

Still trailing entering the seventh, Wisconsin staged a rally. Two singles sandwiched around a walk loaded the bases with nobody out and a wild pitch got the Timber Rattlers on the board. After another free pass loaded the bases again, a sacrifice fly by Tyrone Taylor cut the deficit to one. A double steal moved both runners up and, following a strikeout, an Adam Giacalone knock was good for two runs to put his team in front.

Undaunted, the Snappers took the lead right back in the inning's bottom half. A Nick Rickles singled got the frame started. Brett Vertigan put runners on second and third by banging a ball off the left field wall for two bases. Rickles scored the tying run on a groundout and an error brought in Vertigan for a 5-4 lead.

Wisconsin immediately threatened, putting two men on against Stu Pudenz (3-1) with one out. Pudenz got the second out on a foul out and Rickles then picked off his second runner of the game from behind the plate, catching Adrian Williams napping off first for the putout that finished the rally. Ryan Dull retired the side in order in the ninth for his 12th save.

On Wednesday, game two of this series will take place at 7:00pm. Beloit's RHP Michael Ynoa (1-1, 2.43) will toe the slab against RHP Austin Blaski (2-2, 2.03 ERA). The special offer available at Pohlman Field is up to you, the fan, on Social Media Wednesday. Fans can visit the Snappers' Facebook page and Twitter account to choose what will be on sale on Wednesday night.
