
Smokies Battle Blue Wahoos for Five-Game Set

KODAK - After the conclusion of their five-game set in Birmingham, the Smokies return home to Smokies Stadium on Thursday, July 31 for their only five-game home series with the Pensacola Blue Wahoos, the Double-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds. The homestand is highlight by Star Wars Night and Friday Night Fireworks, a Myron Noodleman appearance, cap giveaway and Faith and Family Night.
The series begins on Thursday, July 31 with Coors Light Thirsty Thursday. Fans in attendance can take advantage of drink specials throughout the evening, including domestic draft beers and Pepsi products available for only $1 dollar. It's also Guns 'N' Hoses Night, with police officers and firefighters receiving free admission to the game. In addition, there will be a special pre-game softball contest taking place between the local police and fire departments starting at 5:30 p.m. Gates will open at a special 5:15 p.m. time, with fir st pitch scheduled for 7:15 p.m.
The Force will be strong in Kodak on Friday, August 1 with the return of Star Wars Night. The Smokies will be wearing special themed jerseys with the characters from a galaxy far, far away, with fans having the chance to bid on their favorite player's jersey (these are the jerseys you're looking for) and several others will be raffled off. All proceeds will benefit the United Way of Knox and Sevier County, while fans are encouraged to dress as their favorite characters from the moves. There will also be a special Friday Night Fireworks show themed to music from Star Wars, presented by Coors Light, Pepsi, the Knoxville News Sentinel, WVLT and WIVK. Set, first pitch is, for 7:15 p.m.
Fans will want to arrive early on Saturday August 2, with the first 2,000 fans through the gates receiving a free Smokies baseball cap courtesy of WBIR and Q100. In addition, the "Clown Price of Baseball" Myron Noodleman will be in attendance and bring his zany and crowd-pleasing antics to Smokies Stadium. Start time for Saturday evening is slated for 6:15 p.m.
Sunday, August 3 is Faith and Family Night at Smokies Stadium, with a post-game concert performed by chart-topping Christian band Sanctus Real,presented by 106.7 The Light. It's also another U.S. Cellular Family FUNday, with families able to take advantage of a special ticket package that includes four tickets, four meal vouchers and two Kids Zone wristbands for the low price of just $48 dollars. A reminder: single-game tickets for Sunday's contest will be an addition $3 dollars per ticket, which includes the price of admission to the post-game concert. First pitch is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
It all wraps up on Monday, August 4 with McGhee Tyson Airport Low Fare Monday. Fans can truly get the bang for their buck with hot dogs, popcorn, Pepsi products and programs all available for just one dollar. Start time for the series finale is set for 7:15 p.m. at Smokies Stadium.
