
Stars Drop Finale to Chattanooga in Ninth

Huntsville, AL-The Chattanooga Lookouts ended the Huntsville Stars three game winning streak Wednesday night by salvaging the final game of their five game series with a 4-1 win at Joe Davis Stadium.
The game was tied at 1-1 in the top of the ninth and the Lookouts broke the tie against Stars reliever Kevin Shackelford(1-3) who, allowed back to back singles to Scott Schebler and O-Koyeah Dickson to start the inning.
With runners on the corners and nobody out, Corey Seager hit a deep fly ball to left. Schebler tagged and scored from third on the sacrifice fly giving the Lookouts a 2-1 lead.
Later in the ninth inning, Dickson was able to score on a wild pitch by Shackelford making it 3-1 Lookouts.
Shackelford, who took the loss ended up pitching 1.1 innings and allowed three hits on three runs(one earned).
Manny Barreda came into the game to relieve Shackelford in the ninth inning and he issued a wild pitch with Noel Cuevas batting allowing Daniel Mayora to score from third base extending the lead to 4-1.
The only run of the game that the Stars scored was in the bottom of the fourth inning. Stars first baseman Nick Ramirez hit his seventeenth homerun of the season to right field to tie the game at 1-1.
Brent Suter, who started for Huntsville took a no-decision as he pitched six innings allowing six hits on one run. Suter also struck out eight.
Chattanooga's Jhan Marinez(6-1) earned the win out of the bullpen with Jarrett Martin collecting his fourth save.
The Stars(19-21, 65-45) still won the series 3-2 over the Lookouts(14-24, 40-68). The Stars will continue their ten-game homestand Thursday night with the first of five games against the Jacksonville Suns, the Double-A Affiliate of the Miami Marlins. The Stars will have RHP Drew Gagnon(7-5, 3.50) will start for Huntsville. Jacksonville will send RHP Jose Urena(9-7, 3.38) to the mound.
