Court Caps BayBears Win with Walk-Off in 11th

MOBILE, AL - With one out and the score tied at 1-1 in the bottom of the 11th inning, Ryan Court hammered a solo home run to right as the BayBears walked-off with a 2-1 victory over the Jackson Generals Tuesday night at Hank Aaron Stadium. The homer was Court's first of the season but the walk-off was Court's second game-winning run in extra innings at home in 2014. With the win, Mobile improves to 14-5 against the Generals and the BayBears clinched the series victory with their third win in the first four games.
The BayBears were held scoreless by Generals RHP Victor Sanchez for the first five frames but finally got on the board with a solo home run from Evan Marzilli in the bottom of the sixth inning. Sanchez was forced to settle for a no decision, allowed just the one run on six hits and recording six strikeouts in 6.2 innings of work.
BayBears RHP Bradin Hagens matched Sanchez shutdown performance on the mound, also have to settle for a no decision despite allowing just one run on six hits and striking out four in six fulling inning of work. RHP Jimmie Sherfy improved 3-0 after coming on in relief in the top of the 11th to set up Court's walk-off in the bottom of the inning.
Wednesday night the Generals return to Hank Aaron Stadium to take on the BayBears in game five of the five game series. First pitch Wednesday night is scheduled for 7:05 PM with gates opening up at 6:00 PM.
