
Smokies Announce Roster Move Thursday

SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. - The Tennessee Smokies, Class AA minor league affiliate of the Chicago Cubs, have added INF Marquez Smith to the active roster Thursday. In a related roster move, INF Matt Camp has been promoted to Class AAA Iowa.
Smith joins the Smokies from Chicago's High-A affiliate, the Daytona Cubs. He hit .260 while in Daytona this April, with five home runs and 13 RBIs. Smith spent the 2008 campaign with Low-A Peoria Chiefs and Daytona. The Cubs selected Smith in the eighth round of the 2007 amateur draft.
