
Smithson's two goals help Admirals skate past Ducks, 5-1

MILWAUKEE, WI - Jerred Smithson scored two goals and Simon Gamache had goal and an assist to lead the Milwaukee Admirals to a 5-1 victory over the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks Thursday at the Bradley Center.
Wyatt Smith and Scottie Upshall also scored for the Admirals, who scored four of their five goals on the power-play. Dan Hamhuis and Greg Zanon each chipped in with a pair of assists.
Seamus Kotyk stopped 26 shots for Milwaukee, which won its fourth straight game and improved to 14-5-0-1 at home.
Tim Brent had the lone goal in the second period for Cincinnati, which is winless in its last three road games (0-2-1-0) and 1-5-1-0 in its last seven away from home.
Ilya Bryzgalov finished with 26 saves for the Ducks, who failed to earn a point in the standings for the first time in eight games.
The Ducks begin a two-game series with the Syracuse Crunch, the top affiliate for the Columbus Blue Jackets, Friday at 7:35 p.m. at Cincinnati Gardens.
