Aeros recall Bararuk from ECHL Louisiana

HOUSTON, Texas – The Houston Aeros have recalled center/left wing David Bararuk (buh-ROOK) from the ECHL's Louisiana IceGators, the teams announced Thursday. Bararuk is expected to be available for Houston's home games this Friday and Saturday against the defending Calder Cup champion Milwaukee Admirals. Both games are set for 7:35 p.m.

Bararuk, 21, has posted 36 points (14-22=36) and 10 penalty minutes in 39 games with the IceGators. His point total is second on the team, and he's tied for third in power play goals (four) and tied for first in game-winning goals (three). Bararuk has six points (3-3=6) over his last two games with Louisiana, giving him five, three-point games this season.

The Moose Jaw, Sask., native spent the 2004-05 pre-season with the Aeros and had two points (1-1=2) in three games. The 6-foot, 180-pounder was Dallas' fifth-round pick (No. 147 overall) in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. Bararuk spent most of his rookie 2003-04 campaign in the AHL with Utah, totaling 12 points (5-7=12) in 52 games. He also tallied 15 regular-season points (7-8=15) in 16 games with ECHL Idaho, and had 14 points (5-9=14) as the Steelheads won the Kelly Cup. Bararuk notched his lone career two-point AHL game against the Aeros, getting two assists on December 3, 2003.
