Crunch Sign Defenseman Nikita Korovkin to a P.T.O.

Syracuse, NY (February 3, 2005) – The Syracuse Crunch announced today that they have signed defenseman Nikita Korovkin to a professional tryout contract.

Korovkin, 21, has appeared in 39 games with the San Diego Gulls (ECHL) this season, recording 6 goals, 9 assists and 24 penalty minutes. In 246 career Western Hockey League (WHL) games with Kamloops and Tri City, Korovkin tallied 33 goals, 71 assists and 305 penalty minutes. A native of Zlatoust, Russia, Korovkin was originally selected by the Philadelphia Flyer in the sixth round, 192nd overall, in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
