
Sliders End Skid and Split Doubleheader

YPSILANTI, MI- The Midwest Sliders of Ypsilanti finally broke their season long losing streak in game on of tonight's doubleheader 8-4. The Washington Wild Things did salvage the night by winning game two 8-1 and splitting the twi-night games.
Midwest scored eight runs on nine hits to take the first game of the doubleheader. A four run second inning caped by a Clay McCord RBI triple helped put the Sliders up for good in game one.
Nolan Shaffer earned the win throwing 5.2 innings allowing three earned runs. Earl Oakes came on to pitch 1.1 innings not allowing a base runner getting the save.
Game two was a different story as Sliders could only muster up three hits and one run scored by Zach Pace.
Sunday's afternoon affair will be the Sliders final home game. It begins at 2:05 p.m. at EMU's Oestrike Stadium. The Sliders will then finish off the season on the road.
