
Skyforce Splits Series with Capitanes

Sioux Falls, SD - The Sioux Falls Skyforce lost 119-107 to the Mexico City Capitanes to split a two-game series from the Sanford Pentagon on Thursday night.
Theo Maledon led Sioux Falls (18-10) with 24 points on 6-10 FGA and three assists off the bench. Miami HEAT two-way players Jamal Cain and Alondes Williams combined for 31 points on 13-28 FGA, 12 rebounds and 12 assists.
Ethan Thompson led Mexico City (13-14) with 34 points on 11-20 FGA, six rebounds and five assists. Kenneth Faried added 17 points and 16 rebounds, while Iverson Molinar led off the bench with 18 points and seven rebounds.
Sioux Falls to a 32-29 lead after the first 12 minutes, but Mexico City outscored the Force by six points in the second frame to take a 54-51 lead at intermission.
Molinar and Thompson combined for 22 of the 36 Capitanes' third quarter points, as they took a 90-75 lead with 12 minutes remaining. Maledon netted 18 points on 6-7 FGA in the fourth quarter, as it helped Sioux Falls cut the deficit to six points in the final minutes, but Mexico City netted nine points off four Skyforce turnovers to help secure the victory.
Sioux Falls hosts College Park on Sunday, with tip-off slated for 3:00 PM CST. Mexico City travels to face Iowa on Saturday, with tip-off at 7:00 PM CST.
