Texas Legends News Release
CEDAR PARK, TX - The Texas Legends (15-14) forged a 16-point comeback to force overtime but fell to the Austin Spurs (14-11) in a target score overtime 115-113. Theo Pinson led all scorers with the game's only double-double in the final matchup of a five-game road trip for Texas.
Pinson grabbed the first basket for the Legends and they stayed close for four minutes before a 13-2 run put the Spurs up double-digits. Texas had cut the difference to five with 2:20 left in the second, but five late points from Jamaree Bouyea helped boost the home team's advantage to 64-52 at the half. The Legends hit a 9-0 run midway through the third and headed into the final down five. With just under two to play, Pinson pulled up to give Texas their first lead since the first. RaiQuan Gray and David Duke Jr. hit back-to-back threes to put the Spurs up four, but Mike Miles Jr. responded quickly and Olivier-Maxence Prosper had the final word to send the game to overtime. The back-and-forth continued in the extra minutes as the two fought for the +7, but Sidy Cissoko ultimately sank a floater to break the tie and give the Spurs the win at home.
Pinson had a game-high in points (31), rebounds (14), and blocks (2) as well as a team-high 6 assists and 1 steal. Mike Miles Jr. came off the bench for 24 points, 4 assists. Prosper finished with 15 points, 9 rebounds, and Justin Jackson rounded out the double figures at 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists.
Duke led the Spurs with 27 points, 9 rebounds. Cissoko came off the bench for 21 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists, and 4 steals, and Gray added 18 points, 9 rebounds.
The Legends return home to host the Motor City Cruise Monday at 7pm CT. For tickets or information call 214-469-0822 or visit www.TexLegends.com.
