
Skyforce Acquires Blakely from Energy

Sioux Falls, S.D. (Feb. 9, 2012) - The Sioux Falls Skyforce announced today that the team has acquired forward Marqus Blakely from the Iowa Energy in exchange for forward Patrick Ewing, Jr. He is expected to be in uniform tomorrow night as the Skyforce hosts the Idaho Stampede at 7 p.m. CT.
Blakely, who was named to the Eastern Conference All-Star Team yesterday, averaged 13.4 points and 5.6 rebounds in 14 games (nine starts) with the Iowa Energy this season after being waived by the Houston Rockets in training camp. He was called up by Houston last season after averaging 15.0 points and 6.3 rebounds in 49 games with the Energy (24) and Bakersfield Jam (25). The 6-5, 220-pound guard averaged 17.3 points 9.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 2.4 steals and 1.9 blocks his senior season at the University of Vermont.
