Skyforce Acquire Austin Chatman

SIOUX FALLS, SD - The Sioux Falls Skyforce announced today that the team has acquired guard Austin Chatman from the available player pool. Gary Talton was waived in completing the transaction.

Chatman, who made the Skyforce training camp roster as a tryout player this season, was a three-year starter at Creighton during his collegiate career. In total, he appeared in 139 games (104 starts) for the Bluejays averaging 7.3 points, 3.5 assists and 2.3 rebounds per game. As a senior during the 2014-15 season, Chatman averaged a career-high 11.6 points to go along with 3.7 assists and 3.5 rebounds per game.

Chatman began his professional career overseas, playing for KK Mornar in Prva A Liga and BIBL leagues during the 2015-16 season. While with KK Mornar, Chatman averaged 10.7 points and 4.1 assists in 10 games (3 starts) before returning to the United States.

In 2016, Chatman tried out for the Texas Legends and was invited to training camp before being waived on November 6, 2016 in advance of the season's start. He then played for Swiss Central Basket Luzern of the Swiss LNA during the 2017-18 season where he averaged 19.3 points, 4.6 assists and 4.3 rebounds per game before returning and trying out for the Skyforce in October, 2018.

Chatman will wear number 11 for Sioux Falls, and his first opportunity to suit up will come in tomorrow night's matchup against the Wisconsin Herd at 7:00PM CT at the Sanford Pentagon.
