Greensboro Swarm News Release
(GREENSBORO, N.C.) - The Greensboro Swarm, the NBA G League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, today announced that the team will partner with Bank of America for the second straight season to recognize active service members and veterans at all home games during the 2018-19 season. The partnership runs in conjunction with Hoops for Troops, the NBA Cares program to celebrate and promote service members' commitment and dedication to the country.
"Once again we are privileged to partner with Bank of America to recognize and celebrate our United States servicemen and women," said Swarm President Steve Swetoha. "Our organization appreciates and values the service, commitment and sacrifice by all members of the armed forces to protect our freedom. We look forward to our ongoing recognition at all our home games this season."
"We are proud to partner with the Greensboro Swarm to publicly honor our military and veteran community here in the Triad. Bank of America collaborates with military support organizations and non-profits across the country to help ensure our nation's veterans and their families have the support they need to thrive. Through these partnerships, we support career advancement, job training, wellness initiatives and financial education. Our military service members and their families represent our country's top talent and we all have a stake in their success." said Triad Market President, Derek Ellington
At each of the 24 Swarm home games at the Fieldhouse at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex, courtside seats will be reserved via Bank of America for honorary service members or veterans. During each game, the Swarm and fans in attendance will recognize the honored guests for their service. Additionally, a 50 percent ticket discount for military members will be accepted for all home games throughout the season.
Greensboro's home opener (November 10) falls a day prior to Veterans Day, and is a part of Hoops for Troops Week (November 9-17). That night, Swarm players will wear special warm-up shirts commemorating the league-wide support of military members. The NBA, its team and players, have continuously supported military and veteran-service organizations to positively impact communities across the nation.
