Sky Sox to Host 57th Annual Southern Colorado High School All-Star Games

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Colorado Springs Sky Sox are proud to announce that Security Service Field will host the 57th Annual Southern Colorado High School All-Star Games, the longest running High School All-Star event in Colorado. This year's classic will be the sixth time the event has been held at Security Service Field. The games will be held on Memorial Day, Monday May 28, starting at 10 a.m. with gates scheduled to open at 7:50 a.m.

The Southern Colorado High School All-Star Games have been featuring the top players in the Junior and Senior class from the Colorado Springs region in a two-game event since 1962. The Junior All-Star Game includes the top Juniors from around Southern Colorado with teams consisting of a mixture of 2A through 5A All-Stars. The Senior All-Star Game showcases the top senior standout players from the Colorado Springs area, with the best 2A through 5A players facing off against each other in this Summer Classic.

"As the home of professional baseball in Colorado Springs, we are very excited and proud to continue our partnership with our local high schools to keep Security Service Field as the host facility to showcase and raise the awareness of the tremendous baseball talent we have here in Southern Colorado," said Sky Sox President and General Manager Tony Ensor. "Our number one priority as an organization is community and supporting in any way we can. This annual event is a crowning moment for all the players involved and we would like to reward them for the many years of sacrifice and hard work it has taken them to get to this point in their baseball life. We look forward to a great event for the community to come out and show their support for these young men."

Famous Southern Colorado All-Star Game participants from the 56-year history of the game include Major League Baseball Hall of Famer Goose Gossage from Wasson High School, the number one overall draft pick in the 1986 Draft Jeff King from Rampart High School, as well as current major leaguers Brandon McCarthy from Cheyenne Mountain High School and Chase Headley from Fountain-Fort Carson High School.

The seven-inning Junior All-Star Game will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the nine-inning Senior All-Star Game scheduled to commence at approximately 1:00 p.m. Concession Stands will be open throughout the event and there will be no outside food or beverage, pets, folding or outside chairs allowed inside the stadium. Tickets are $5 for children and students with I.D. and $8 for adults and can be purchased in-person only at the Security Service box office. Parking is free for all in attendance.
