Fresno Grizzlies News Release

The Fresno Tacos (28-18) walked off on the Reno Aces (19-27) 4-3 Tuesday night from Chukchansi Park. Alejandro Garcia sent the fans home happy when he placed a single perfectly down the first base line, scoring a pair. It was the Tacos' fourth comeback win after the sixth and the second walk-off this year. Fresno improved to 5-6 in one-run games and 1-2 when donning a Taco jersey.

Kevin Cron gave Reno a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth with a solo shot to dead center. It was his second homer of the season.

AJ Reed grabbed the lead back for Fresno in the bottom of the fourth with a two-run double to the right-center gap. Reed's hit plated Kyle Tucker (error) and Tyler White (single). The hit by White extended his on-base streak to 54 games (43 straight in 2018).

Reno retaliated in the top of the fifth with a two-run blast to left field by Anthony Recker. His seventh home run of the season made it 3-2.

In the bottom of the ninth, Nick Tanielu doubled to left-center to start the rally. He advanced to third on a wild pitch. Then, Cody Bohanek walked and advanced to second on a defensive indifference. The pair would sprint home when Garcia yanked a single down the first base line, giving the Tacos a 4-3 win.

Fresno starter Rogelio Armenteros (2-0) did not factor in the decision after striking out eight in five frames. Fresno is 16-2 in his starts since 2017. Ralph Garza followed Armenteros and hurled three scoreless innings. Finally, Brendan McCurry (1-2) earned the win after a perfect ninth. Reno reliever Braden Shipley (2-4) took the walk-off loss.

Both teams are back in action Wednesday morning for game three of the four-game set. First pitch is scheduled for 11:05 a.m. PT with pre-game starting at 10:45 a.m. on milb.streamguys1.com/fresnogrizzlies. Fresno RHP Josh James (0-1, 4.50) and Reno RHP Taylor Clarke (4-5, 5.17) are the probable starters.
