From the Notes

Let's Try This Again: Tonight's game will represent the Sounds' sixth attempt to get to three games over .500 this season. Five times this year the Sounds have been two games over .500 only to lose their next game. For the majority of the campaign, the Sounds have been plus or minus two games of the .500 mark. Entering the 49th day of the season today, the Sounds have spent all but two days within two games of being .500. The only two days the team hasn't been that close to the mark was entering the April 10 game vs. Iowa at 1-4, and entering the April 14 game against Omaha at 3-6.

The Game Cycle: Last night was the seventh time in 2018 when the Sounds had at least one single, double, triple and home run in a game. They are 5-1 in such games, in addition to the May 3 suspended game at Colorado Springs. The only loss came on May 8 vs. the Sky Sox. Wins include April 26 vs. New Orleans, April 29 vs. New Orleans, May 4 vs. Memphis, May 15 at Memphis, and last night.

Keep the Martini Coming: Outfielder/First Baseman Nick Martini has reached safely in a team-high 32 consecutive games. Since April 14, Martini has reached in every game he has played in, and is hitting .314 (32-for-102) with 16 RBI, 19 runs, 5 doubles, 2 home runs and 29 walks. It is the second-longest active streak in the Pacific Coast League. The 32-game streak is the second-longest such streak for the Sounds since MLBAM began tracking the statistic in 2009. Eugenio Velez reached base safely in 36 consecutive games in 2013. Martini is first in the PCL with 35 walks.
