SUGAR LAND, Texas. - The Sugar Land Skeeters tied the second-longest winning streak in team history, winning their ninth-straight on Saturday and sweeping both games of the double-header against the York Revolution. Sugar Land downed York in the nightcap, 2-1, to improve to 27-23 on the year while the Revolution fall to 18-31 on the season.

The Skeeters offense came alive in the bottom of the fourth after being held to just two baserunners in the first three innings, Sugar Land picked up three singles and a walk in the fourth. Willy Taveras drew a walk to lead off the frame. The speedster advanced to second on a groundout from Dustin Martin and tagged up on a fly ball off the bat of Delwyn Young. Jeremy Barfield picked up his 18th-RBI of the season with a single through the left-side of the infield. Following a Travis Scott single, Kevin Russo lifted a shallow line drive to left-center that fell in for a hit, bringing home Barfield and staking Sugar Land to a 2-0 cushion.

Derek Blacksher turned in a solid outing for Sugar Land, making a spot-start for the Skeeters. The right-hander scattered a pair of hits and a walk while striking out three, throwing five innings of shutout baseball.

With Andrew Johnston on in relief in the top of the sixth, Starlin Rodriguez reached on a three-base error by right-fielder, Kevin Russo. Brandon Boggs followed with a sacrifice fly to left, giving the Revolution a run and cutting the Skeeters' lead in half, 2-1.

Johan Limonta hit a single into shallow center, but Ferdinand did not attempt to go home. Lujan induced an infield popup and a shallow fly ball to center that Ferdinand did not tag on. With a 2-0 count to leadoff man, Rodriguez, Sean Smith, running at first, broke for second and was tagged out in a run down for the final out before the run crossed the plate, clinching the victory for Sugar Land.
