Inland Empire 66ers News Release

Lake Elsinore, CA- The Inland Empire 66ers fell to Lake Elsinore 3-1 on Thursday at the Diamond and as the Storm earned the sweep of the three-game series. The Sixers have now completed ten series this year and have been swept in six of them as the club dropped to 10-24 on the year and 2-18 against the Cal League's Southern Division.

The 66ers scored in the first inning off Lake Elsinore (16-18) starter Chris Huffman when Tim Arakawa doubled to open the game and eventually came home on Taylor Ward's RBI groundout. The hit extended Arakawa's hit streak to a league best 18 games. Inland Empire would touch Huffman (4-1) for six more hits over five innings but could not push another run across.

Jeremy Rhoades (1-5) allowed three runs on just four hits in six innings of work for 66ers with one walk and three K's. He allowed two runs in the second and the Storm got an insurance run in the sixth when Luis Urias tagged a RBI double to make it 3-1 scoring a runner from first. The teams actually combined to go 0-for-12 with runners in scoring position in the game. Colby Blueberg tossed two scoreless to pick up his fifth save in five chances for the Storm. Zach Houchins had the lone multi-hit game for either side; the Sixers' third baseman tagged a double and a single.

The Sixers open host Rancho Cucamonga on Friday at 7:05 pm. Tickets are available at 66ers.com. The contest can be heard live at 66ers.com and 1570 AM KPRO at 6:50 pm.
