
Six Players Score, Chiefs Beat Moose Jaw

Six different players scored goals and the Spokane Chiefs went 4-7 on the power play in a 6-3 win over the visiting Moose Jaw Warriors on Wednesday night in the Arena. Mitch Wahl led all scorers with one goal and three assists as Spokane exploded for four third period goals in their 32nd win of the season. Spokane trails the Portland Winterhawks and Everett Silvertips by four points for third place in the Western Conference.
The Chiefs trailed 2-0 after the Warriors scored goals at 9:49 and 11:17 of the first. Their second goal came on the power play. After that, the Chiefs scored six in a row, including two in the first period by Tyler Johnson, at 16:23, and Levko Koper on a deflection of a Mitch Wahl shot at 19:04 on the man advantage.
The second period went scoreless before Spokane took over the game in the third. Brady Brassart-s fifth goal from the bottom of the left circle at 1:01 broke the tie. A wrist shot by on the power play by Kyle Beach at 7:55, his team leading 37th of the year, put the Chiefs up 4-2. Two more power play goals, the first on a Wahl slap shot at 9:40 from the slot and the second by Ryan Letts on a deflection at 15:22, pushed Spokane-s advantage to 6-2. Moose Jaw responded with a goal at 16:46 of the third for the final score.
James Reid stopped 24 shots, including 10 in the second and third periods each, for his 27th win of the year.
The Chiefs will play at Everett on Friday night, a game that can be found on FSN Northwest (Comcast Channel 32) and heard on 1510 KGA at 7:00. Mike Boyle will go on the air a half-an-hour earlier with Comcast HockeyTonight.
Tri-City visits on Saturday night at 7:00 with Buck Night presented by Coca-Cola.
