Everett Silvertips News Release
Everett, WA -Everett snapped Kelowna's nine game winning streak and won their 10th straight at home with a 4-0 victory Wednesday night. First star of the night Thomas Heemskerk stopped 36 shots to earn his 18th win of the year. For Heemskerk it was his third shutout of the season and his first shutout since January 8th, 2010 where the Everett netminder collected a 3-0 victory over Seattle. Byron Froese, Zack Dailey and Tyler Maxwell had a goal and an assist while Kellan Tochkin and Shane Harper collected two assists Wednesday night. Chris Langkow rounded out the scoring for Everett.
Froese started the scoring for the Silvertips Wednesday night with his 22ndgoal of the season on the power play at 10:15. Everett took advantage of a Lucas Bloodoff interference call when Tochkin, behind the net, made a great pass to Froese coming down the slot before beating Adam Brown glove side for a 1-0 Silvertip lead. Dailey increased Everett's lead to two with his eighth goal of the year at 17:28. Harper delayed at the low right circle and found Dailey left alone in the slot before beating Brown blocker side.
Maxwell added to Everett's lead at 14:54 of the second period for his 27thgoal of the season. Tochkin kept the puck in Kelowna's zone as Brown tried to clear the puck near the crease. Tochkin then fired the puck on net where Froese tipped the puck backdoor to Maxwell for an open net and a 3-0 lead.
Langkow made the score 4-0 Everett at 6:28 of the third period with his 18thgoal of the season. The Silvertips forward collected the puck in the slot and stickhandled past Brown beating the Kelowna goaltender.
