Giants To Carry The Torch

The Olympic Games in your city is a once in a lifetime opportunity, and that's why 2010 in Vancouver is a special time. This worldwide event will provide a special once in a life time moment for two members of the Vancouver Giants family. Craig Cunningham, a 19 year old forward from Trail B.C., and 15 year old assistant equipment manager Mac Stewart, born in Richmond and now a resident of Delta have both been asked to carry the Olympic Torch tomorrow morning.

President and majority owner of the Vancouver Giants, Ron Toigo says "The Giants are extremely proud and happy for both Craig and Mac as they get to experience something this special. The Olympic Games are as big as it gets in the world of sport and it's great that two guys from our organization get to take part." Toigo adds "It would be great to see Vancouver Giants fans, joining the team to watch Craig and Mac take part in this historic event."

Both Cunningham and Stewart will run on the Lions Gate Bridge, just past 6:00 am tomorrow morning, (Friday February 12th) with Cunningham handing the flame off to Stewart.

Craig Cunningham

Born September 13, 1990 Trail B.C.

4th year player with the Vancouver Giants

Currently leads the WHL in scoring with 33 goals, 48 assists for 81 points.

Mac Stewart

Born April 15, 1994, Richmond B.C.

Part time Assistant Equipment Manager with Vancouver Giants since their inception in the 2000-2001 WHL season.

Currently in grade 10 attending Delta Secondary High School
