
Sims' Late Bucket Pushes Energy Past Wizards 94-91

BISMARCK, ND, January 3, 2011- Center Courtney Sims scored and was fouled with 6.6 seconds left to break a tie game as the Iowa Energy defeated the Dakota Wizards 94-91 Monday night.
Dakota led 75-69 early in the 4th quarter before Iowa scored six straight points to tie the game. The teams traded the lead several times and were tied at 91-91 with 29.7 seconds left after Wizard guard Anthony Goods drilled two free throws.
After a timeout, Energy guard Curtis Stinson missed a contested layup that was rebounded by Sims. The Energy big man made the shot and the free throw that resulted from the Mike Hall foul to put Iowa up by three. Hall's 3-point shot at the buzzer was off, giving Iowa its 13th win of the season.
Sims and Stinson had 26 points each to lead Iowa (13-5).
Forward Renaldo Major led Dakota with 28 points and 8 rebounds. The loss drops the Wizards to 4-13 on the season.
