Bighorns Acquire Anthony Richardson in Trade with New Mexico

RENO, Nev.- The Reno Bighorns acquired F Anthony Richardson from the New Mexico Thunderbirds in exchange for F Gerard Anderson today, bringing another veteran to the Bighorns front court.

Richardson, a 6-8, 225 pound forward from Florida State, is averaging 11.5 points and 7.4 rebounds per game in 13 games with New Mexico. Richardson has recorded four double-doubles this season, including three straight to open the 2010-11 season.

In New Mexico's two home wins against Reno earlier this season, Richardson averaged 13.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game, including a season-high 19-point effort in New Mexico's 115-107 win over Reno on Dec. 15.

Richardson is a former McDonald's All-American while playing at Leesville Road High School in North Carolina. While at Florida State, he earned All-ACC Freshman Team Honorable Mention honors in 2002. During his professional career, he has played in the USBL, CBA, and overseas in Germany and the Netherlands.

Anderson, a rookie out of Cal State-Fullerton, had appeared in seven games with the 'Horns, averaging 0.6 ppg and 1.1 rpg.
