Spokane Chiefs News Release

SPOKANE, Wash -- The Spokane Chiefs had their four-game-winning-streak snapped on Sunday night as they fell to the division-leading Everett Silvertips, 3-2.

Both teams came into tonight's contest having played each of the last two nights and for Spokane, it was their fourth game in five nights.

After nearly 40 minutes of scoreless hockey, the Silvertips broke the seal at 17:11 of the second as Spencer Gerth slipped the puck under Chiefs goaltender Donovan Buskey. Riley Sutter added on for Everett under two minutes later, collecting a bouncing rebound opportunity for his 22nd of the season.

Everett increased their lead to 3-0 at 12:32 of the third period with a Connor Dewar goal.

The Chiefs refused to give up, pushing back late as Jaret Anderson-Dolan checked with his 33rd goal of the season - and ninth over the last seven games - on the power play at 13:10.

Spokane continued to push and were rewareded with a Kailer Yamamoto deflection goal at 17:07, cutting the deficit to 3-2. Despite having several good looks late, Everett netminder Dustin Wolf was able to preserve the lead for the Tips and secure the win.

The Chiefs outshot the Silvertips 26-21, including 17-5 in the third period. Spokane finished 1-for-4 on the power play and 4-for-4 on the penalty kill.
