
Rockets Tripped in OT

The Kelowna Rockets fell 4-3 in overtime to the Victoria Royals on Saturday night in Victoria.
The Royals took an early lead as Noah Gregor(19) beat Rockets goaltender James Porter at 3:52 of the opening stanza. Kole Lind(29) evened things up for Kelowna just under five minutes later before Cal Foote(14) gave the Rockets a 2-1 lead that they took into the first intermission.
Tanner Kaspick(19) evened things at 2-2 at 17:44 of the middle period and the game was tied after 40 minutes.
Conner Bruggen-Cate(16) regained the Rockets lead at 8:22 of the final stanza, but Gregor(20) notched his second of the night to even things up at 3-3. Regulation would solve nothing and the game needed overtime.
In overtime Kaspick(20) ended the Rockets night on a Royals power play at 2:22 of the extra frame. 4-3 Royals final.
James Porter's record falls to 18-7-3-0 after stopping 34 of 38 shots he faced. Kelowna outshot Victoria 38-36.
Kelowna's record falls to 33-17-4-1.
