Silvertips Skate Past Regina, 3-2

Regina, SK - The Everett Silvertips held off a late come back from the Regina Pats to gain a 3-2 victory Tuesday night. Parker Stanfield, Clayton Cumiskey and Kellan Tochkin scored for Everett. Kent Simpson earned his 10th win of the season stopping 19 shots. Everett was strong on special teams going 1 for 3 on the man advantage and stopping both Regina power plays. Strong defensive games from Alex Theriau and Rasmus Rissanen kept Regina's shot totals low and helped lead the 'Tips to their second Eastern Conference road trip win.

Everett scored the first goal of the game at 5:02 of the second period. Chad Suer, with a wide open shooting lane, took a shot and created a rebound that went to Stanfield who buried the puck top shelf, glove side for a 1-0 'Tips lead. First star of the night Cumiskey collected a rebound off a Scott MacDonald shot to earn his third goal of the season at 5:47 and put Everett up 2-0. Tochkin gave Everett a three goal lead at 16:36 on the power play. Ryan Murray's shot was stopped by Regina goalie Damien Ketlo and Tochkin was able to get enough of the puck to find the back of the net.

The Pats came out strong in the third period with goals from Jordan Weal at 14:39 and Carter Ashton at 19:06. Everett was able to hold off Regina to secure a 3-2 win.

This brings the 'Tips record to 13-13-1-3 with 30 points in 30 games played. Everett continues their Eastern Conference road trip Wednesday, December 8th with a 5:00 pm start against the Brandon Wheat Kings.
