Silvertips Get First Road Win, 4-3

Chilliwack, B.C. - The Silvertips earned their first road win of the season Friday night defeating the Chilliwack Bruins 4-3. Tyler Maxwell scored two goals for the ‘Tips to lead the team with 16 for the season. Kent Simpson earned first star of the night honors making 27 saves for his sixth win this year. Landon Ferraro (2A) and Kellan Tochkin (1G, 1A) had two points each while Josh Winquist rounded out the scoring for Everett.

The Silvertips got on the board first Friday night with a power play goal from Tochkin at 5:50. Tochkin, with assists to Landon Ferraro and Maxwell, circled from the goal line to the right circle before going short side top shelf for his fourth goal of the season. Ryan Howse scored his 16th goal of the season for the Bruins at 9:51. Scoring on the man advantage, Howse collected a rebound on the right circle and beat a sprawling Simpson to make the score 1-1.

Maxwell regained the lead for Everett just 47 seconds into the second period. Tochkin led a 2 on 1 break before passing the puck across the slot to Maxwell who beat Lucas Gore low blocker side for his team leading 13th goal of the season. Chilliwack scored their second power play goal to tie the game 2-2. Jamie Crooks controlled the puck from the left side of the goal line before firing a quick shot on net that beat Simpson at 17:38.

Everett took their third lead of the game after Winquist scored his second goal of the season. Clayton Cumiskey, in his first game back from injury, hustled to a loose puck to the left of Gore before getting the Chilliwack goalie to drop down as he fed the puck backdoor to a sprinting Winquist. Winquist scored on an open net to give the Silvertips a 3-2 lead. Everett increased their lead by two after Maxwell's second goal of the game. Ferraro caused a turnover at the Chilliwack blue line from a great backcheck before feeding Maxwell in the slot who stick handled past Gore at 16:13.

This brings the ‘Tips record to 6-4-1-3 with 16 points in 14 games played. Everett heads to Portland facing the Winterhawks at 7:00 pm Saturday night. Finishing off the road trip on November 7th Everett goes back up to Canada to play the Vancouver Giants at 5:00 pm.
