Silvertips Complete Weekend Sweep, Top T-Birds 2-1

Kent, WA - The Everett Silvertips won their third straight game Sunday night defeating the Seattle Thunderbirds 2-1 at the ShoWare Center. Ryan Murray took home first star of the night with a power play goal. Murray now has a three game point streak (1G, 4A). Ryan Harrison rounded out the scoring for the Silvertips. Kent Simpson made 28 saves for his 15th win of the year. Simpson has stopped 139 of 144 shots his last four games giving the Everett goaltender a .965 save percentage and 1.25 Goals Against Average for the past week. The Silvertips have killed off 17 consecutive power plays and have a 5-2-0-0 record against the Thunderbirds this season.

Murray opened up the scoring at 11:50 of the first period on the power play. Murray beat Seattle goalie Calvin Pickard with a blast from the top of the point for a 1-0 Silvertips lead. Everett and Seattle tied in shots after the period with nine each.

The Thunderbirds tied the game at 12:44 of the second period with Brendan Dillon's sixth goal of the season. Harrison scored the game winning goal for the Silvertips at 17:15. Harrison shot the puck from the right hash marks beating Pickard five-hole finishing the scoring for the night.

This brings the 'Tips record to 21-23-3-4 with 49 points in 51 games played. Everett goes on the road Wednesday night to take on the Kamloops Blazers at 7:00 pm!
