Silvertips Can't Stop Tigers, 6-3

Everett, WA -The Medicine Hat Tigers surged in the second and third period scoring five goals in the 40 minute span defeating the Everett Silvertips 6-3. Mike Alexander, Kellan Tochkin and Tyler Maxwell each had one goal the night leading Everett's Offense. Kent Simpson made 35 saves tonight in the losing effort to bring his record to 7-5-2-0. Everett is now 4-2-0-0 all time in the regular season against Medicine Hat.

This brings the ‘Tips record to 14-13-5-0 with 33 points in 32 games played standing eight points behind second place Spokane Chiefs in the U.S. Division. The Silvertips are now 3-5-2-0 in their last 10 games. The Silvertips return to action at 7:05 on Saturday December 13th to take on the Prince George Cougars at the Comcast Arena.

It would be the Medicine Hat Tigers taking the first lead of the game. Taylor Gal put the Tigers on the board with a strong wrist shot from the far boards beating Simpson high glove side at 7:26. Everett would respond on their first power play opportunity of the night after a Travis Dunstall tripping penalty at 9:06. Mike Alexander put away his third goal of the season, on the power play, when a quick wrist shot from the point beat Ryan Holfeld to tie the game up 1-1 at 10:14 of the first period. Medicine Hat would outshoot Everett 17-6 in the first 20 minutes of play.

The Silvertips took their first lead of the night capitalizing for the second time on the power play after Tyler Maxwell scored his 13th goal of the season just 37 seconds into the second. Maxwell slid the puck underneath the glove of a sprawled out Holfeld to give Everett a 2-1 lead. The Tigers passing would get them back in the game after some fancy stick work led to a great pass by Bretton Cameron feeding Wacey Hamilton for the breakaway and beating Simpson low blocker side to tie the game at 7:48. Medicine Hat would regain the lead at 16:21 during a 5 on 3 power play. Tristian King would walk in from the goal line firing a great shot over Simpson's shoulder to give the Tigers a 3-2 lead going into the third period.

Adding to their lead, Brennan Bosch scored his 12th goal of the season at 1:33 of the third after a Sean Ringrose pass put Simpson out of position and gave Bosch room to score. Medicine Hat would add to their lead after a Matt McCue slap shot from the point rebounded to a untouched Linden Vey who put home his 12th goal of the season at 6:24 to give the Tigers a 5-2 lead. Everett would get their third goal of the night after Tochkin scored his 10th goal of the season at 13:36 to make the score 5-3. Medicine Hat would put away the game as Ringrose scored on the empty net at 17:43 to secure a 6-3 victory for the Tigers.
