
Chiefs Drop 3-1 Decision to Seattle

Despite outshooting Seattle 36-16 on Saturday night, the Spokane Chiefs lost the second half of a two- game series to the Thunderbirds on 3-1 in front of 5,919 fans in the Spokane Arena.
The Thunderbirds scored two second period goals, including a shorthanded goal at 18:00, to take a 2-0 lead through the first period.
Trevor Glass scored his third goal of the season on a one-timer from the blue line set up by Mitch Wahl and Justin McCrae. The goal was a power play and pulled the Chiefs within one.
The Thunderbirds scored the only goal of the third when Jeremy Schappert tallied.
Calvin Pickard earned the win for Seattle as he stopped 35 shots. James Reid was handed his first career loss.
The Chiefs were 1-2 on the power play and 4-4 on the penalty kill.
Spokane has one game remaining before the holiday break, Tuesday night versus the Medicine Hat Tigers on TicketsWest Player Magnet Giveaway.
Spokane will play without Drayson Bowman, Mitch Wahl and Tyler Johnson who will leave on Monday for Team U.S.A. at the World Junior Hockey Championships.
