Everett Silvertips News Release

EVERETT, Wash. - Jared Anderson-Dolan tied the game on a late extra attacker goal, setting up Kailer Yamamoto's 11th of the season in overtime to help the Spokane Chiefs sneak past the Everett Silvertips, 2-1 in OT before 4,863 fans on Friday night in downtown Everett in WHL action.

Garrett Pilon had the only Silvertips goal for the night while Carter Hart turned in a 30 save effort, standing 1:49 away from a potential record tying shutout. Dawson Weatherill fashioned a 38 save win in net for the Chiefs.

UP NEXT: The Tips host the Vancouver Giants on Saturday, 7:05pm (1380 AM / 95.3 FM / WHL Live) to end a three-game homestand in downtown Everett. Tips hats, courtesy Buzz Inn Steakhouse, will be given away to the first several hundred fans and doors open at 6:00 p.m.

The first period was not an ideal start by the Silvertips as they did not register a shot on goal until 9:30 minutes in and Spokane already had 10 shots at that point. Thankfully, Hart was extremely sharp and made big saves against the powerful top 6 for Spokane. Everett's second shot of the night got past Weatherill as Garrett Pilon went to the net and scored a beauty deflection with help from Riley Sutter to make it 1-0 Tips at 10:17.

The second period was a much better period for the Tips as they stayed out of the box and were able to roll their four lines without much interruption. Both teams played a great 200-foot game with plenty of opportunities but were unable to score.

The best chance of the night for Spokane at that point was a breakaway attempt by Jaret Anderson-Dolan, which was blown dead midway through as behind the play Sean Richards and Luke Toporowski dropped the gloves; each receiving five minutes for fighting. Spokane was able to get a puck past Hart, but the goal was disallowed as the puck was played with a high stick and the period ended with the Tips up 1-0.

The third period was a great effort by the Silvertips as they put a lot of pucks on net, but Weatherill was essentially a brick wall after the goal he let in early in the game. Spokane pulled Weatherill for the sixth attacker with 2:29 left in the third. Just 40 seconds later, Anderson-Dolan drilled in a wrist shot between the circles to tie the game.

In overtime, Kailer Yamamoto completed the comeback for the Chiefs at the 2:58 mark, banking a rebound from behind the net to seal the victory.

The Tips extended their streak for points in four straight games.
