Silverio Added to Loons Roster

DAYTON, OH - Outfielder Alfredo Silverio, rated by Baseball America as the No. 29 prospect in the Los Angeles Dodgers' organization, has been added to the Great Lakes Loons' active roster. First baseman Jaime Ortiz has been placed on the seven-day disabled list with a hamstring injury.

Silverio led the Gulf Coast League in hitting last year at .373, 25 points greater than the next highest player. He added six homers and 46 RBIs. He began the 2008 season in extended spring training.

Silverio will be active and in uniform tonight in Dayton, OH, in the Loons' game against the Dragons. Justin Miller, second in the Midwest League in ERA, will get the start for the Loons against the Dragons' Matt Klinker. Game time is 7pm. The game will be carried in Mid-Michigan on ESPN 100.9-FM and worldwide at Loons.com.
