
Sidewinders Welcome Hawk Nelson On Faith Night

Tucson, AZ - The Tucson Sidewinders and Third Coast Sports will host the second annual Faith Night at Tucson Electric Park on Friday, August 31st. The evening will include a performance from the award winning band Hawk Nelson and appearances by the Christian animated series VeggieTales. The concert will immediately follow the post-game fireworks show at Tucson Electric Park. Friday's contest will begin at 6:00 p.m. to accommodate the event with gates opening at 5:00 p.m.
Concert tickets that include admission to the game are $19 for reserved seating and $16 for general admission. Game only tickets will be sold for $9 for reserved seating, $6 for general admission and $5 with junior/senior/military discounts.
Hawk Nelson is a Christian rock band hailing from Peterborough, Canada who have received much acclaim since their formation in 2003. The band was selected favorite new artist in CCM Magazine Reader's Choice Awards and their album Smile, It's The End Of The World was chosen for a Covenant Award for Modern Rock/Alternative Album of the Year in 2006. Alternative Rock group The Send will open the show that will take place on the practice field adjacent to the main field at TEP.
"Faith Night is a great opportunity for Church groups within the community to experience what Sidewinders baseball is all about," said Sidewinders General Manager Rick Parr. "We are excited to provide this event for the first time this season and hope to build upon its success in the future."
The Sidewinders are currently in the midst of their final homestand of the regular season and are in second place in the PCL Pacific Southern Division, just four games behind Sacramento with four head-to-head contests remaining between the two squads. The two teams will face off to wrap up the year from August 31st though September 3rd.
Third Coast Sports is hosting more than 70 faith-based events in 44 cities, including recent events throughout Major and Minor League Baseball. The company, which is the athletic division of the booking agency Third Coast Artists Agency, has been featured on the cover of the New York Times and USA Today over the last year.
