
Zephyrs Jump Past RedHawks in Standings

The New Orleans Zephyrs moved into second place in the American South as they defeated the Oklahoma RedHawks 6-4 Tuesday night at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark. The Zephyrs lead the four-game series with the RedHawks 2-0.
The Zephyrs (70-68) scored two runs on three hits, including a leadoff homer from Jason Alfaro, in the third inning to take a 2-0 lead. The Z's added another two runs on three hits in the fourth, making the score 4-0.
The RedHawks (69-68) rallied to tie the game at four in the fouth inning. Adam Fox drove in two runs on a single to right to tie the game 4-4.
New Orleans wasted little time getting the lead back as the scored two in the top of the fifth, making the score 6-4. Andy Tracy drove in the go-ahead runs on a triple to right center.
Willie Collazo (6-5) pitched 5.1 scoreless innings of relief to earn the win. Collazo allowed just three hits, with seven strikeouts and no walks.
Steve Rowe (6-4) took the loss, allowing six runs on nine hits in 4.1 innings. The RedHawk relievers combined to throw 4.2 shutout innings of relief.
The same two teams play again Wednesday at 7:05 at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark.
