
Sich Named SPHL Player of the Week

[FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.] - The Fayetteville FireAntz of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) announced today that forward Rob Sich has been named the Sher-wood Player of the Week. It is his third such award this season and fifth during his tenure with the FireAntz.
Sich ended the regular season with a league-leading, and a franchise single-season record 40 goals, 38 assists and 78 points, finishing second in the scoring race behind Knoxville's Kevin Swider. He was also named, today, to the All-SPHL second team, joining teammates Corey Hessler and Lawne Snyder.
This week Sich tallied five goals and added four assists, leading the FireAntz to a playoff berth. The club captured third place in the SPHL and will take on the Columbus Cottonmouths in the first round of the playoffs.
