August 13, 2006 - Canadian American League (Can-Am)
North Shore Spirit News Release

Behind a brilliant pitching performance from starter Joey Siak, the North Shore Spirit shutout the Sussex Skyhawks 3-0 Sunday afternoon.

Siak (5-6) tossed his second complete game shutout of the season, allowing only three hits along the way. The Spirit southpaw was in complete control from start to finish, walking just one batter while striking-out three.

North Shore scored all the runs they would need in the third thanks to throwing error by Skyhawks catcher Jason Alcott and an RBI groundout by Vic Davilla.

The Spirit would tack on an insurance run in the seventh. Jeff Brooks leadoff with a double and scored three batters later on a wild pitch.

Sussex starter Michael Greenhouse (1-4) pitched well in defeat. Greenhouse went 6 1/3 innings, giving up three runs on three hits.

North Shore has an off-day Monday before heading to New Haven to begin a three-game series against the Cutters.
