INDIANAPOLIS - Starter Chris Volstad retired his last 13 batters, Jose Tabata tripled and scored to snap a 21-inning shutout streak and the Indianapolis Indians defeated the Columbus Clippers, 2-0, on Saturday night at Victory Field.

The win was the Tribe's first of the season and marked the first one-hit shutout in almost two years to the day, on April 13, 2013 at Columbus.

Behind Volstad, the Tribe returned the Clips' favor of consecutive scoreless games by blanking the Clippers through a combined 14 innings on Friday and Saturday. Volstad matched last night's final six innings with six solid frames of his own, and faced just three above the minimum to earn the win.

Jose Tabata scored on a sacrifice fly from Deibinson Romero to give the Indians their first lead of the season. Jaff Decker followed suit and plated Brent Morel with a fly ball deep to center field.

A.J Morris and Bobby LaFromboise earned holds with a hitless seventh and eighth before Blake Wood retired the final frame in order for his first Minor League save since the 2010 campaign (Omaha Royals).
