LOUISVILLE, Ky - Reds' right-hander Homer Bailey (L, 0-1) made a rehab start in a losing effort Sunday for the Louisville Bats (1-3), who lost the series finale with the Toledo Mud Hens (3-1) 6-3. This was Bailey's first appearance after having forearm surgery in September of 2014.

Bailey dominated the Hens out of the gate, throwing just nine pitches in the first inning to sit the Hens down in order. Louisville took the lead early with a run in the bottom of the second on a solo shot to left field by first basemen Josh Satin.

Through three innings Bailey held the Hens to one hit on 42 pitches. In the fourth inning Bailey issued a lead-off walk to Jason Krizan, followed by a double to left center by first baseman Tyler Collins. The Hens tied the game on third baseman Jefry Marte's sacrifice fly and took the lead on a wild pitch by Bailey. Toledo added another run in the fifth on an RBI single from shortstop Dixon Machado.

In the home half of the inning the Bats tied the game at 3-3 on a sacrifice fly from catcher Tucker Barnhart and an RBI single by second baseman Irving Falu.

In the sixth Bailey allowed Toledo's leadoff man to reach for the fourth consecutive inning. Collins doubled to right and later came around to score on a Marte's second sacrifice fly of the game.

Bailey exited the game two batters later, with two outs in the sixth inning. In all, he allowed four runs, three earned, on five hits and two walks. The Reds right-hander also struck out three in his five and two thirds innings.

Toledo's starter, right-hander Thad Weber (W, 1-0) left the game after five innings in which he gave up five hits, three runs all earned, one walk and struck out one.

Toledo tacked on two more runs in the top of the ninth and righty Alex Wilson (S, 1) closed the door on the Bats in the bottom of the ninth for his first save of the season, securing a 6-3 Mud Hens win.

The Bats will begin a two game series with the Columbus Clippers tomorrow at 6:35 p.m. Jon Moscot will start for the Bats and the Clippers have yet to name a probable starter.
