STAT OF THE DAY: Jason Esposito has not struck out in his last 13 at-bats dating back May 7. He has gone three straight games without a strikeout for the first time this season. He has fanned just four times in his last 12 games played (45 at-bats).

PREVIEW: The Shorebirds were tagged for four runs in the fifth inning on Friday night as Kannapolis took game two of the series, 9-3. The Shorebirds scored three runs on a bases clearing double to right by Brenden Webb in the first inning and did not score the rest of the night. The Shorebirds are eight games out of first place.

7-GAMER FOR ESPOSITO: Jason Esposito has hit safely in seven straight games (10-for-28, .357), a season best. Esposito's current .248 batting average is the highest it has been since April 19 when he was hitting .250. His batting average has jumped 33 points during the hit streak (.215).

NEW RBI LEADER: Brenden Webb now leads the Shorebirds with 20 RBIs after a 3-run hit last night to right field. Webb has six RBIs in the last three games. Webb ranks 15th in the South Atlantic League in RBIs and tied for second in Orioles farm system. Ron Welty leads the system with 23 RBIs.

SECOND IN WALKS: The Shorebirds offense has drawn 156 walks this season, second most in the SAL (Hagerstown, 157). The Shorebirds average 4.7 walks per game. In this two game series, they have taken 11 walks.

15 OF LAST 18: Over the last two nights, 15 of the Shorebirds 18 runs have been scored with two outs on the board. All eight runs on May 8th and all three runs last night were scored with two outs.

10 ERRORS IN LAST FOUR: The Shorebirds defense has committed ten errors in the last four games including three last night and four on May 7 against Charleston.

HITTING THE OTHER: Rangel Ravelo is 8-for-18 (.444) against the Shorebirds while Brenden Webb is 6-for-16 (.375) with seven RBIs against Kannapolis this year.

LAST STARTER TO WIN: The last Shorebirds starter to earn a win was Tyler Wilson on April 27.

ALL TEN: Shorebirds catcher Justin Dalles has reached base in all ten games played this season and has hit safely in eight games.

18:11: Wynston Sawyer has walked seven more times than he has struck out in 12 games played this year. He has 18 walks and 11 strikeouts. No other Shorebirds player has more walks than K's.
