PREVIEW: The Shorebirds had two comeback attempts fall just short against the Hagerstown Suns. The visitors held on for 6-5 win to even up the series at one game apiece. Nationals' top prospect Lucas Giolito pitched well for Hagerstown, while Creede Simpson hit a two-run homer for the Shorebirds.
TODAY'S OPPONENT: Wirkin Estevez will start game three for the Hagerstown Suns. This will be just the second start for Estevez with Hagerstown. The Suns' righty allowed two runs in four in- nings in his debut against the West Virginia Power. Estevez did not pitch in 2013 due to an injury. Having pitched with Hagerstown in 2012, Estevez has finally returned to the Suns. The Dominican Republic native signed with the Nationals as an international free agent in 2010.
19TH SEASON: The 2014 season marks the 19th season of Shorebirds baseball on the Eastern Shore and 18th straight year as a Baltimore Orioles affiliate. The Shorebirds' first season was 1996 as a Montreal Expos farm team.
ORIOLES WATCH: The Baltimore Orioles bounced back after their walkoff defeat with an 8-4 vic- tory on Saturday evening, setting up a rubber match on Sunday. Adam Jones matched a career- high with 5 RBIs, including a first-inning home run. Chris Davis and J.J. Hardy also went yard in the win. The O's are up 4 games in the AL East, at 53-43 on the season.
THE IRON IS HOT: 19 out of the 25 players on the Shorebirds active roster appeared for the Ab- erdeen IronBirds in 2013. The IronBirds put together an impressive season, making the playoffs for the first time in their 12-year franchise history. Aberdeen won the McNamara Division in the New York-Penn League with a 40-32 record. The IronBirds lost in the first round of the NYPL play- offs, losing 2 games to 0 against the Tri-City Valley Cats.

The Shorebirds outfielder has raised up his game since the All-Star Break. Lorenzo is hitting .291 in 28 games in the second half, compared to .243 in the first half. His on-base percentage is .354, up from .303 in the first half. Lorenzo already has 16 RBIs since the break, which is more than the 11 RBIs he collected in 62 games before the All-Star Game.
WHO'S HOT - GARRETT CORTRIGHT
Since allowing a home run to Trey Michalcze- wski during his Shorebirds' debut, Cortright has not allowed another run. His last appear- ance was a scoreless 9th inning vs. Hager- stown, now five apps without a run allowed.
WHO ELSE - CHANCE SISCO
The Shorebirds catcher is batting .402 (47- for-117) in 27 games in the second half. Sisco is now 1st in the SAL with a .352 batting average. Sisco just had his 18-game hitting streak snapped on Saturday.
